Installing the AA batteries Your radio is powered by 3 AA alkaline batteries. Point the rear part of the radio toward you, lift the clip to disengage the battery compartment cover, and then remove the battery. The table charger provides convenient storage for charging nickel-cadmium batteries and can be placed on a flat surface such as a table or workbench. Charge the nickel-cadmium battery for at least 16 hours before using it for the first time. After initial charging, a discharged battery is recharged in less than 14 hours.
