In an accident, you could be thrown into it and receive neck or other serious injury. You could also slip below the belt and receive serious internal injuries. For the most effective protection when the vehicle is in motion, the seat must be in the upright position. Always sit well back in the seat with both feet on the ground and adjust the seat correctly. See "Precautions on the use of the safety belt" later in this section. After adjusting, rubbing gently on the seat to be sure it is well locked. Do not leave children unattended in the vehicle. Without knowing it, they could activate switches or controls. Unattended children could be involved in serious accidents.
